Fast Food Shop

  • Substrate: Plasterboard
  • Fire Rating: 60/60/60
  • Many shops incorporate first floor residences or flats. The Building Code of Australia (BCA) requires fire separation between a ground floor shop and a first floor residence. The project required the fire upgrading of the standard plasterboard ceilings of this Sydney fast food restaurant to achieve a Fire Resistance Level of 60/60/60.
  • The CAP508 system was applied to all ground floor ceilings which were then top coated with a washable durable paint to allow the ceilings to be cleaned regularly.
  • The CAP Coatings system allowed the client to achieve the required level of fire performance within a narrow timeframe and allowed the shop to open as scheduled with a high standard of finish achieved throughout.
