Capmark RFID System

CAPMARK™ on site data system, is a proprietary technology that records and maintains information about fire protection systems – usually used for certification and ongoing maintenance purposes.

CAPMARK™ utilises an On-site Storage Disc (OSD) which is located in situ (ie attached to, within or behind a ceiling, wall, door, column etc) and records data collected relevant to the fire protection in the building or specific part of the building in which it is located.

Its primary use is to provide easy access for building managers, owners, authorised tradespeople, authorities, engineers, architects, fire service and certifiers to the “as built” documents, as well as the ongoing condition and status reports updated whenever necessary.

CAPMARK™ ensures a higher level of accessibility to information required by any person authorised to use the data, which improves accountability, control and efficiencies across the spectrum of professional and trade services, lowers costs of maintenance, increases the accuracy and relevance of the building data, and significantly reduces the possibility of compromising existing fire protection systems, thereby enhancing the safety of building occupants.

Utilising readily accessible low cost reading devices, an authorised person can read the OSD for an instant assessment of the building’s features, consent requirements, fire safety reports, latest inspection dates and whatever information is deemed to be both necessary and relevant for maintaining the compliance standards. In addition, an authorised person is able to efficiently update the OSD while on site, avoiding the need to remotely update the data, and ensuring that when the information is required by others it is instantly available and up to date.

Features can be summarised:

  • 1.On site storage disc (OSD) located on, within or behind structure such as a wall, ceiling, column labeled in standardized form and location for easy access by authorized person.
  • 2.OSD designed to contain location specific information that can be read and updated (including proof and outcome of inspection)
  • 3.Able to be read by any authorised person using OSD scanner and laptop or PC
  • 4.All information stored on a main data base which can be easily accessed through a CAP portal.
  • 5.Able to be updated by any authorized person using OSD scanner and laptop or PC
  • 6.Able to store history of updated compliance status
  • 7.OSD can incorporate an off site back up process
  • 8.Location specific data retrieved as required for future inspections
