CAP508 is an interior intumescent thin film water based coating capable of providing a fire resistant barrier on a variety of substrates, including plasterboard, lath and plaster, fibrous plaster, fibre cement sheeting, particle board and wood products.

When the coating is heated to approximately 140C it expands into a foam char up to 50mm thick which insulates the underlying substrate from the fire.

CAP508 is suitable for residential, multi-family commercial and industrial projects.

CAP508 has been designed for use on wallsand ceilings and can be applied by spray, roller or brush.

With class leading test results, approved applicators, quality control programmes, applicator and third party certification and an industry first Integrity Management System incorporating RFID chip technology, CAP COATINGS offers a cost effective easy alternative solution to achieving compliance in fire upgrade situations.

CAP COATINGS’ water based thin film technology means a durable high quality paint finish can be achieved.

Surfaces can now be fire rated overnight, with minimal disruption to building occupants.

TESTING

CAP508 has been tested to AS1530.4 by CSIRO in Australia and BRANZ in New Zealand CAP508 now offers test results and opinions on a variety of interior substrates. With FRL’s of 60 and 90 minutes as well as Resistance to Incipient Spread of Flame of 60 minutes.(Test results).

CEILING FIRE UPGRADE SOLUTIONS

Use of CAP Coatings’ intumescent coating solutions precludes the need to replace ceilings or install sprinklers to achieve regulatory compliance. CAP508 provides a tested and proven alternative solution.

HERITAGE SOLUTIONS

CAP Coatings’ has developed a solution specifically for achieving compliance on fibrous and lath and plaster heritage ceilings.

INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

CAP Coatings has developed an industry first Integrity Management System™ which, via the use of RFID technology, provides ongoing information management of the passive fire protection systems installed at a particular site.(CAPMark RFID System).

Exterior system

CAP COATINGS are currently testing an exterior system designed to add to a properties fire protection levels, and to meet the requirements of the new bushfire standards.
